Fans of the sideways-parking Smart cars should get their orders in now, in time for Energy Saving Week, to bag the latest and most energy-efficient model so far.
The Fourtwo cdi will hit the tarmac in February next year and offers the lowest CO2 emissions of any car on the road - you can actually get an impressive 670 miles out of one little tank of diesel.
And to get those green credentials doesn’t mean being overtaken by milk floats either. This sporty number, available in coupé or cabrio format can do a respectable 84mph top speed and get off the blocks quicker than most thanks to its weight advantage.
Like the regular petrol Fourtwo, the cdi offers interchangeable body panels and to the dismay of traffic wardens, the ability to park perpendicular to the pavement. Eat that Rita meter maid.
