Fit-PC Slim - the world’s smallest PC launches
Ξ September 18th, 2008 | → | ∇ Gadgets |
Flash drives are so yesterday - with the fit-PC Slim, you can take a complete desktop around with you.
It’s a marvel of miniaturisation, no bigger than your car keys but still packing enough power for a serious session of email checking and web browsing, aided by a 500MHz AMD Geode processor, and a Linux-based operating system. In fact, there are three versions available, a basic set-up with 256MB of memory for $220, a 512MB version with Wi-Fi for $245 and the Rolls Royce of pocket-sized PCs, packing all of that plus a 60GB hard disk and the option to go Windows XP. That’s a wallet-rippling $335.
We’re excitedly awaiting the miniature monitor, mouse, speakers, keyboard and VoIP phone, all with keychain attachments so we can collect them as charms. Well, we can dream.
