In addition to announcing the N85, Nokia has also let the N79 cat out of the bag, which is aimed at the more entry-level market. Offering several fresh colours, the N79 is being marketed by Nokia has a stylish multimedia handset. Somehow, it just doesn’t rival the N85.
A 5.0-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens is certainly becoming a must-have with Nok handsets, along with an FM transmitter, and 10 pre-loaded N-Gage games.
Surpassing the previous N72 and N73, you can click Xpress-On smart covers onto the handset, which come in “light sea blue”, “espress brown”, “olive green”, “coral red” and, err, white.
Surprisingly, the N79 has HSDPA internet and Wi-Fi, meaning it’s certainly not a handset to be sniffed at, plus the 4GB microSD card Nokia will gift you with means you can take numerous photos, and even geotag them with the inbuilt A-GPS.
Shipping in October, Nokia claims it will cost £280, but that’s before taxes. Otherwise, pick it up for free on a contract from your mobile carrier.
