Leatherman celebrates 25 years with luxury Argentum multi-tool collection

Leatherman is celebrating its 25th anniversary by adding an ornate touch to its multi-tool collection. Hand-crafted by the world-renowned silversmith Adrian Pallarols, each of the highly limited Argentum collection has a highly polished, sterling silver finish, along with the special 25th anniversary crest and Tim Leatherman’s signature.

A wide range of designs are available, based on three of Leatherman’s most popular multi-tool models, Charge, Wave and Squirt. Prices range up to a whopping $40,000 for the most intricately decorated model and feature 18K gold ornamentation. Pricey? Over-the-top? Probably; but next time you’re out in the countryside and can’t find the bottle opener, it will be worth every single penny.

Leatherman clearly intends for these to be considered as collectibles or family heirlooms, to be passed down from generation to generation as an elaborate reminder that Swiss Army knifes are for girls and that real men carry all-American Leatherman tools. However, that’s not to say they aren’t fully working multi-tools; they are, and they come with the full 25-year Leatherman guarantee.

Even though some of the models are very much on the gaudy side, someone needs to give Leatherman a medal for not simply gluing a handful of Swarovski crystals on the outside and declaring them ‘bling’. Retailing for £34,999, apparently!
